Special Waste

One key to the Authority's success in managing the County's waste in an environmentally responsible manner lies with you!  Because managing certain materials called "special wastes", in ways that will not harm disposal facilities or the environment, requires your help. Because if you understand what special wastes are, and how they should be handled, you are doing your part to help protect the integrated system, and in doing so, the environment.

CONSTRUCTION / DEMOLITION WASTE 

Normally, your hauler will allow you to place one container of construction/demotion waste with your regular trash each week. But, if you have home projects that generate more than one refuse-container of construction/demolition materials, try to make special arrangements with your trash hauler to pick up the waste.

If your hauler doesn’t handle this type of waste, or if you have more than one container per week, you will have to deliver it to the Frey Farm Landfill or the Transfer Station. Please call the Authority for details.
